Michele Oaks
Ministry Coordinator

Michele has been on staff as the Ministry Coordinator at LCOS since October of 2019. Michele has a real passion for ministry, most especially in helping folks figure out how to use their strengths and giftedness to serve God. Michele was born into a large family as the youngest of 6 kids in Akron, Ohio. In her young years in Akron, Michele lived just down the street from the Rubber Bowl, the Goodyear Hangar, and the best frozen custard stand in the world, Strickland's. In the middle of Michele's childhood, her parents relocated (without the older siblings who were already adults) to the foothills of the Catalina Mountains in Tucson, Arizona.

While in Arizona, Michele obtained a degree in Human Services and was very active in the theatre scene. Nearly 20 years ago, Michele returned to Ohio, this time settling in the Dayton area near her parents. Michele has served on dozens of domestic and international short-term mission trips. She especially has a heart for the people of the Czech Republic and still has friends there from her years serving at Czech Summer English Camps. Michele, who had always been an active church member, entered into full-time Ministry in 2003 when she joined the staff at Ginghamsburg UMC in Tipp City. During her years at Ginghamsburg she wore lots of hats: running the Singles Ministry and the Missions program. Helping to kick off a brand new Biker Ministry. Working as an assistant to the Executive Pastor and as a member of the adult discipleship team.

In 2005, Michele met her husband Nate through mutual friends and two years later they were married. They have twin girls. Michele has homeschooled her kids since the first grade. Michele loves science fiction movies and TV. She is also an avid theatre-goer, who attends all manner of performances at the Dayton Performing Arts venues. A bit of a homebody, Michele enjoys nothing more than curling up on her sofa at home with a good book!
